AAAAAAAAAaaAA!

My wife said that these days it’s impossible to start crowdfunding with just a YouTube channel, just pure love for an idea and belief in something good.

But you proved otherwise.

You’re a hero - not just for making it through PayPal hell, but for believing in the power of content.

I’ve already started working on the next issue.

« The McDonald's I Miss »

One year ago, I started drawing food that I miss, can’t afford, or have stopped eating and drinking because I don’t think the brands that produce it are worth my money.
What is McDonald’s to you? Just fast food or something iconic?

I wasn’t born in the United States, and for me McDonald’s is one of those childhood memories connected with something good.

The McDonald’s of my childhood was a celebration, a status symbol, something almost unreachable.

Yes, we are still talking about fast food that was supposed to be cheap and quick, but in my childhood it was actually a symbol of luxury.

Just like it was in the USSR.

One of my favorite photos is from the opening of the first McDonald’s in the Soviet Union, with huge lines of people waiting to get in.

But here’s something interesting.

In the past, McDonald’s was mostly for children (you can see this if you look at the old interiors). Now it seems to be more focused on adults.

Why?

And it’s not only McDonald’s - Lego is doing the same thing. Maybe they realized that parents are more willing to spend money on themselves than on their kids?

Many people love McDonald’s.

For example, Donald Trump. And I don’t really know how to feel about that.
How do you feel about it?

While you’re thinking about that, I’ll tell you about the drama.

McDonald’s was the first company that left my city when the war started, and it still hasn’t returned. So for me, it’s not really the taste of the food that I miss. I miss the time when their restaurants existed in my city — when there was no war.

That’s why I drew my McDonald’s bags.

Ironically, Donald Trump is the one who could bring McDonald’s back to me.
